Recycling is a very important aspect of society, not just from my point of view but from twenty eight percent of other Americans as well. Everything I eat, I find a way to recycle it. Mainly due to the fact that the recycling committee in my hometown do not except certain contents such as Hershey bar aluminum foils. If they spot something like that in a recycling bin, they will not collect it. So I wrap up certain things and put what needs to be recycled into my bag so I can recycle them on my college campus at Illinois Central College. My family and I have three recycling bins at our house, giving us space for anything big we need to recycle such as cardboard boxes.
I reuse things around the house such as old notebook paper from previous semesters, but tear out and recycle the paper that has been used. And when I’ve use up the notebook completely I also recycle it. Buying hot chocolate and Jones soda is a daily routine whenever I attend class so I make sure to recycle my paper cups, and glass bottles. It bothers me when I see people trying to throw away plastic water bottles, so I’d kindly ask them if I can take the bottles off their hands and recycle them. Recycling, in my opinion, should not be an optional way to dispose of garbage but the only way. Not only this, but if I find trash near my house or near trails where I take walks then I’ll pick it up and recycle it as well. If everyone recycled we would have a 1, 200 less landfills to worry about, but more importantly if everyone recycled then the earth would be a lot cleaner place to live.
